The Automotive Cluster Vienna Region (ACVR) was founded in November 2001 by ecoplus, the economic development agency for Lower Austria, and the Vienna Economic Promotion Fund. As an inter-technology automobile cluster, the ACVR idetifies and promotes trail-blazing key technologies with high growth potential in the region. The focus is on the sectors of transport telematics, transport logistics, microtechnology and nanotechnology, as well as alternative vehicle concepts.
The key element in the networking acivities is increasing the added-value element, raising the R&D portion, and enhancing the level of innovation of the associate companies. The ACVR initiates and guides the co-operation between Cluster associates and provides marketing resources to increase familiarity of the products and services provided by the companies. One particular area of attention for Cluster activities is international co-operation with the new EU member states of Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
